| Biographical History | Born in Berlin as Sonia Wolff, Levitin immigrated to the U.S. and lived in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Moraga, Calif. She is the author of "Journey to America", which was based on her family's escape from Nazi Germany. The book received many awards, including one from the Jewish Book Council of America for outstanding Jewish juvenile book of the year for 1970. She also is a columnist, educator, and founder of the Moraga Historical Society and is married to Lloyd Levitin. | ![]() |
